The Abia State Commissioner for Education, Uche Emeh-Uche, has described Governor Alex Otti as being strategic in his reforms in the education sector of the state.

Emeh-Uche stated this during a press briefing by her information counterpart, Okey Kanu, on the outcome of the state’s executive council meeting chaired by Otti.

She said the reforms include those at the State University, Uturu (ABSU), Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba, and the State College of Education (Technical) Arochukwu (ASCETA).

“ASCETA was completely neglected. Despite all the federal government’s investments through TETFUND, it was in ruins. The government now wants to upgrade it and make it a world-class institution.”

“We are getting ready for the lost accreditations. By October, the college will undergo accreditation. The government is doing all it can to upgrade that institution in terms of facilities and manpower,” she said.
