Aiyedatiwa, during the distribution yesterday, urged the beneficiaries to properly use the kits (Crocs and scrubs) donated by the wife of the President, Senator Olufemi Tinubu, for the benefit of mankind.
Recall that the First Lady had recently distributed 10,000 professional kits to midwives and nurses in the Southwest under the renewed Hope Initiative Health Programme at the International Event Centre DOME, Alagbaka, Akure.

The governor, however, Aiyedatiwa, disclosed that out of the 10,000 kits brought by the President’s wife for the Southwest, 1,166 belonged to the state and were distributed to the beneficiaries.

Represented by the Special Adviser on Health, Professor Simidele Odimayo, the official distribution of the materials in Akure, the state capital, Aiyedatiwa said, ” Wife of the President, Her Excellency Senator Remi Tinubu out of her sound mind to the people of Nigeria, she has enhanced the people in the health sector so that they can be motivated to better care for Nigerians.

“By giving them these and scrubs kits, they will be better motivated to care for the people. And she brought 10,000 to the southwest zone. And we are distributing the ones that pertain to Ondo State to all our health facilities across the state. We urge you all to use the kits properly and be proud to save the citizenry’s lives.

“The kits are meant to be distributed to the Teaching hospital in the state, the Specialist hospital in Akure, the Specialist hospital in Ondo, the primary health care, and the Hospital Management Board across the state. Even our School of Nursing and Midwifery also benefits from the kits.”

Aiyedatiwa further stated that his administration has strengthened the State Drug and Health Commodity Management Agency to buy drugs and distribute them to all health facilities across the state.

He said, “We have finished our PharmaGrid store, which can keep those drugs in optimal condition for distribution with excellent distribution facilities.

“The government has given some funds to support these activities so they can function well. Mr. Governor is strengthening the health sector. Over 102 healthcare facilities across all the local governments in the state are currently undergoing revitalisation.

“Mr. Governor is employing Health workers. The process is ongoing. He has been motivating our staff, enhancing their salary, making sure their salaries are promptly paid so that we can have a system that is running.’’
