Lekoil has reiterated its commitment to social responsibility by donating N10.5 million to The Gamesville Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting the less privileged in society.

Chief executive officer of Lekoil, Lekan Akinyanmi, said, the move underscores the company’s ethos of consistent giving and community support. “At Lekoil, we believe that giving should be a habit. There’s never a perfect time to give. There will always be competing responsibilities, but choosing to help others consistently is how we build stronger communities,” he stated.

Speaking further, Akinyanmi commended Chidinma Obi Sedenu, founder of The Gamesville Foundation, for her dedication and vision. “She has been doing this incredible work, often independently. When we saw the value of what she was building, we knew we had to support it.

We also encourage our colleagues to come up with ideas like these that uplift and unite communities,” he added.

According to him, Lekoil does not give conditions and expectations, rather, the company does what it is capable of, knowing the foundation will make the best use of the support.

The Gamesville Foundation is renowned for merging recreational activities with material aid to uplift individuals affected by hardship, disability or isolation. Its initiatives include offering scholarships, hosting game tournaments for underprivileged children, and nurturing skills such as strategy, teamwork and self-confidence.

Speaking on the initiative, the founder stated the foundation was bore out of passion to support those who needed to survive. “We currently support five grassroots charities who work directly with and impact thousands of indigents, disadvantaged and disabled youth: Street Child Care and Welfare Initiative, Echoes of Mercy and Hope Foundation, JAKIN NGO, Diocesan Special Education Center, and Society for the Empowerment of Young Persons.”
