Suleiman, in a goodwill message marking International Labour Day in Bauchi yesterday, said that it is a day set aside to celebrate the immense contributions of workers toward infrastructural developments, reduction of criminality, and income generation through diverse employment opportunities.

“The importance of labour to the workforce can never be ignored as they serve like engine to the device, they practicalize what experts have written and build infrastructures that stand for generations to come”, speaker’s spokesperson, Mukhtar Garba Kobi said.

The speaker observed that the Bauchi State Government, under the leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed, has had monumental impacts on labour through the approval of the minimum wage and consistent salary payment.

Suleiman noted that the renovation of the state secretariat in Bauchi and 20 local government council secretariats has helped workers discharge their duties effectively in a conducive atmosphere.

Also speaking in the same vein, the executive chairman of Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board, Adamu Mohammed Duguri, said the day afforded them the opportunity to reflect upon, recognise, and celebrate the tireless efforts and unwavering commitment of every individual who contributed to the development of basic education in the state.

A press statement signed by the board’s public relations officer, Isah Mohammed Jungudo, said that the chairman commended the staff and management of the board for their strategic approach, administrative expertise, and constant pursuit of excellence in managing affairs, while their leadership continues to be a beacon of progress and innovation.

He also appreciated the technical and financial staff, internal auditors, as well as casual staff who worked diligently behind the scenes to ensure that the SUBEB operations run efficiently and effectively, saying contributions are deeply valued and vital to the success of the board’s mission.
