Former Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Danjuma Tella La’ah, has said his defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is a deliberate and strategic step aimed at fast-tracking development in Southern Kaduna.

Speaking at a well-attended thanksgiving and house dedication ceremony in his hometown, Tum-Kagoro, Kaura Local Government Area, Senator La’ah emphasized that political alignment with the center remains a crucial pathway for Southern Kaduna to attract federal presence and infrastructural development.

He said “My decision to join the APC is purely for the interest of Southern Kaduna. We cannot afford to be spectators while others shape the future. To bring development to our people, we must align with the federal government and actively engage in national politics,”.

He called on the people of Southern Kaduna to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, noting that the current administration offers fresh prospects for national integration, unity, and regional development.

“President Tinubu means well for Nigeria. His administration is an opportunity for every region, including ours, to benefit from inclusive governance and strategic national investments,” he added.

Senator Danjuma La’ah’s recent moves further cement his status as the political godfather of Southern Kaduna, a title previously held by the late Senator Isaiah Balat, a revered figure in the region’s political history.

Breaking the long-standing one-term jinx that plagued Southern Kaduna’s representation at the National Assembly, La’ah served two consecutive terms (2015–2023) as Senator.

During this time, he distinguished himself through bold legislative interventions and impactful constituency projects.

He championed the Establishment of a NOUN study center in Kagoro to boost access to tertiary education.

The decamping ceremony had in attendance,Hon. Ado Audu, representing Governor Uba Sani;
Alhaji Samaila Yakawada, former Secretary to the State Government; Rep. Magaji Amos Gwamna  (Zango/Jaba Federal Constituency); Senator Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi, political ally and associate;
Engr. Andrew Yakubu, former GMD of NNPC.

Also present were traditional rulers including HRH Ufuwai Bonet, Chief of Kagoro, and HRH Isa Mohammed, Emir of Jema’a, underscoring La’ah’s wide appeal across ethnic and religious lines.

As Southern Kaduna navigates the post-Balat era, Senator Danjuma La’ah now stands as the region’s most influential political figure—a unifier, a statesman, and a bridge to the national power structure.
