The palace of Ngaski, cradle of heritage and symbol of cultural continuity, became the epicentre of celebration, where sons and daughters of the soil, royal council members, security elites, custodians of tradition, and honoured guests gathered in joyful unison to witness history as it was inscribed upon the scrolls of honour.

This title deeply rooted in the annals of Hausa-Fulani aristocracy, is not lightly bestowed. It is a crown of trust, reserved for men of valour—men whose hands have laboured in the service of the people, whose hearts beat with loyalty to justice, and whose names echo with the songs of peace.

Ambassador Ojo Patrick Idowu was deemed worthy not merely for his sterling service in uniform, but for his unwavering dedication to the sanctity of human life, his bridge-building between institutions, and his unshakable belief in the power of culture as the soul of security.

His unique blend of military discipline and cultural insight places him in a powerful position to shape local peace-building efforts.

As Nigeria continues to confront complex security challenges, the recognition of officers like Idowu signals a renewed respect for grassroots leadership, cultural diplomacy, and the essential alliance between state institutions and traditional authority.

The title of First ‘San Turakin Ngaski’ is more than an accolade—it is a living legacy of service, respect, and unity between crown and country.

The Royal Proclamation was made, with grace and gravitas befitting the throne, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Tanko, spoke with depth and clarity, extolling the virtues of the honouree before a rapt assembly.

“Today, we raise a man whose deeds precede his name. A protector of the realm, a guardian of peace, and now, a prince among the people. By the will of the council and the consent of our ancestors, we bestow upon you the sacred title of First San Turakin Ngaski—a voice of the throne, a servant of the soil, and a sentinel of honour.”

Ambassador Idowu is not only a symbol of security and order but also a friend of the people. Today, we do not merely honour his rank—we honour his humanity, his sacrifice, and his sincere partnership with traditional leadership,” the Emir proclaimed.

The San Turaki title—rooted in centuries of royal tradition—is bestowed upon individuals of noble character, unwavering public service, and notable contributions to communal growth. Ambassador Idowu, recognized nationally for his professionalism and strategic role in civil protection, was honoured not only as a protector of the people but now as a custodian of cultural values.

In his remarks, the Emir of Ngaski, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Tanko, extolled the virtues of the honouree, calling him a man of rare discipline, loyalty, and humility.

“Ambassador Idowu is not only a symbol of security and order but also a friend of the people. Today, we do not merely honour his rank—we honour his humanity, his sacrifice, and his sincere partnership with traditional leadership,” the Emir proclaimed.

The Emir further called for stronger ties between security agencies and traditional rulers in safeguarding peace, especially at the grassroots where royal institutions often serve as the first point of contact in crisis resolution.
