Suspended Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has declared her readiness to confront legal proceedings in the charges filed against her by Senate President Godswill Akpabio before a Federal High Court with due diligence and respect for the rule of law.

This followed a formal notice from the Federal High Court in Abuja, informing the Senator of a three-count charge filed against her by the Director of Prosecution. The notice, dated May 23, 2025, accused Akpoti-Uduaghan of making statements believed to have damaged the reputation of Akpabio.

In a statement released in Abuja and signed by her legal counsel, Dr. Ehiogie West-Idahosa, SAN, the female Senator acknowledged receipt of the court notice and assured the public of her commitment to addressing the matter in accordance with legal standards.

“We received the court notice this (Friday) afternoon on behalf of our client, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan,” the statement read.
“The charges levelled against her are rooted in alleged defamatory statements against the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio.”

Dr. West-Idahosa emphasised that the legal team was fully prepared to defend the embattled lawmaker in court, pledging a robust and lawful response to the allegations.
