Kogi State governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, yesterday flagged off the construction of 7.2 Idah township roads, in Idah local government area of the state.
Governor Ododo thanked the people of Kogi East for their support for his administration, noting that he is available to fulfil all his electioneering promises for the people of the state.
The governor also eulogised the former governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for laying the foundation of all the developmental activities Kogi is witnessing today.
He expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for all his support, which has always made the people of the state happy.
The governor said that the project is expected to significantly improve the state’s infrastructure, enhance transportation, and boost economic activities in Idah and its environs.
“This flag-off is going to stimulate the economic activities of this place. On behalf of the people of Kogi State and my entire team, I flag-off the internal roads of Idah local government area to the glory of God Almighty and to the benefit of mankind,” he said.
While addressing journalists on the sidelines of the occasion, the managing director of Kogi State Road Maintenance Agency (KOGROMA), Engr Yunusa Alhassan, thanked Governor Ododo for his commitment to the development of infrastructure in Kogi State.
He also assured the people of Idah local government that the job would be executed within the project’s specified timeframe.
The project is part of the state government’s efforts to promote development and improve the quality of life for its citizens.
The roads to be constructed are Igalaogba – Angwa – Inachalo Junction, Sabongari – St Boniface – Ega market Junction, St Michael – Ukwaja – St Peter’s road and Ukwaja Junction –Attah – Idah Club road.
