The Ondo State governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on Wednesday, disclosed that the change of leadership that occurred in the State House of Assembly has nothing to do with him.

Recall that the Deputy Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abayomi Akinruntan, and the Majority Leader, Emmanuel Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, resigned from their positions on Tuesday.

Akinruntan, son of the Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom in Ilaje local government area, Oba Frederick Obateru Akinruntan, stepped down as Deputy Speaker and was consequently replaced by Hon. Ololade Gbegudu from Okitipupa local government area.

In his resignation letter, Akinruntan did not disclose the reason behind his sudden decision. But a source hinted that there has been a cold war between the governor and the father of the erstwhile Deputy Speaker, Oba Akinruntan.

But, speaking on the development while distributing newly acquired security vehicles and gadgets for security agencies in the State at the Government House ground in Akure, the state capital on Wednesday, Governor Aiyedatiwa noted that nothing is permanent in life.

While saying that society itself evolves, Aiyedatiwa said, “They are doing some readjustment in the House. Basically, their business, so it’s not my business.”

According to the governor, “I’m on my lane. As long as the House is peaceful. I have no problem, and the business is going on fine. Well, done.”

He, however, congratulated the new majority leader, Hon. Olatunji Oshati (Maxima), representing Ose Constituency in the Assembly.
