It also said that efforts were on to ensure that all bad federal roads in the state are fixed by the relevant authorities.

The chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Babatunde Oke disclosed this in Ado Ekiti at a news conference, heralding the second year anniversary of the seventh assembly.

He said members of the House of Assembly, inaugurated on June 6, 2023 are committed to providing legislative support for good governance in Ekiti,  by passing bills, aimed at improving residents’ welfare.

“This Assembly has passed 24 Bills into Law, all of which have already received the assent of the Governor, except few to be assented at the Special Plenary on Wednesday.

“Six private member bills, four executive bills totalling 10 bills, were passed into law this year with several others still pending. Also passed are 63 critical resolutions.

“It must be re-emphasised that all the Bills, passed by the Seventh Assembly are predicated on providing legislative fillip to good governance in Ekiti State, and securing the welfare of Ekiti people,”he said.

Oke added that the passage of the bills into law was to help Governor Biodun Oyebanji achieve his vision for the development of the state towards the shared prosperity agenda.

Some of the bills passed into law, according to him are, 2025 Appropriation Law (2024), Ekiti State Statistical (First Amendment) Law, 2025 (2024), 2024 Supplementary Appropriation Law (2024), Ekiti State Property Protection [Anti-Land Grabbing] Second Amendment Law (2024), High Court Law of Ekiti State First Amendment among others.
