Vice president, Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN) North West zone, Alhaji Shehu Hassan Kano has been appointed the Acting National President of the association.
Hassan Kano was appointed and ratified by the MOPPAN Board of Trustees to helm the affairs of the body, following the death of its deceased National Chairman, Alhaji Umar Maikudi (aka Cashman) who was elected last March.

Describing Kano as a veteran and respected elder in the Nigerian film industry, the board expressed confidence that he will bring his wealth of experience and leadership skill to the position.

“The Board of Trustees has every confidence that (Kano’s) appointment will provide stability and continuity to the association during this transitional period. We look forward to his leadership and vision in guiding MOPPAN forward,” said the board’s Chairman, Makama Sani Mu’azu.
