Tiwa Savage’s Drops Video Of ‘You4Me’, Samples 18-year American Song

Tiwa Savage has released a video of her recent single ‘You4Me’ on Wednesday.

The singer announced the song on her YouTube account with the message, “I hope you it as much as I do.”

An Afro RnB ‘You4Me’ samples an 18-year-old song ‘So Into You’ by American singer, Tamia. Tamia went on to release a remix of the song featuring American rapper Fabulous.
In ‘You4Me’, Tiwa Afrobeats brings Afrobeats flavour to the song, alongside her original lyrics delivered in her unique sing-slow rap soft vocal.

The sample occurs in the chorus – “I really like you (for me) (6x), I am into you.” And rather than a softer take on love, of a younger woman, You4Me speaks of a strong, independent and diva-ish woman, who still saves all her love for her partner, and equal, who can handle it, and gives her room to be her.

The singer’s choice of a simple studio setting with the shadowed background dancers, keeps the focus easily on the song, her smooth movements and swag, which adds the video/song’s aesthetics.
Netizens were having a banging time with the song, than a nostalgic feeling it rouses for some of the 90s music genre.
