Bauchi State governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has donated 300 Saudi Riyals (approximately N124,000) to each of the over 2,000 pilgrims from Bauchi currently performing the 2025 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

The announcement was made during yesterday’s governor’s visit to the Bauchi State pilgrims’ camp in Mina. He checked the pilgrims’ welfare and commended their resilience throughout the Hajj rites.

“I know you have endured a lot over the past few days while fulfilling your religious obligations. As a gesture of support, I am donating 300 Riyals to each of you,” Governor Mohammed stated.
He called on the pilgrims to remember Nigeria in their prayers, emphasising the need for peace, good governance, and sincerity among the nation’s leaders.

“We urge you to pray for our country, peace to reign, an end to deceptive politics, and genuine leadership. Saudi Arabia has shown what is possible with good governance through the successful Hajj organisation. Nigeria can also reach such heights,” he said.

The governor also appealed for prayers, specifically for Bauchi State, especially for continued security and peaceful coexistence among its people.

He lauded the state’s Hajj officials for coordinating a smooth pilgrimage experience and praised the pilgrims for their discipline and exemplary conduct.

Also, Governor Mohammed expressed condolences to the family and community of the pilgrim from Ganjuwa Local Government Area who passed away on the Day of Arafah.

He described the loss as deeply saddening and prayed for the soul of the deceased.
