According to the Jigawa State Police Command, the incident, which took place on Saturday around 2 pm, involved two Golf 3 saloon cars and resulted in numerous injuries.

In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer for the state, Shiisu Adam, disclosed that one of the vehicles, registered as Kaduna MKA 687 AY, was driven by Adamu Sunusi, a 35-year-old man from Hadejia LGA, who was travelling from Abuja to Gujungu town.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the vehicles collided head-on after one driver lost control, causing both cars to veer off the road. The police responded swiftly, and the injured were transported to Ringim General Hospital for treatment.

The Commissioner of Police, CP A.T. Abdullahi, expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured a rapid recovery. He urged drivers to adhere to traffic regulations, avoid speeding, and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy to prevent such tragedies.
