Super Eagles forward Paul Onuachu was given a rapturous welcome upon his arrival at Trabzonspor International Airport yesterday. A large number of fans turned out in droves to greet the forward, as captured in pictures posted on Trabzonspor’s official Twitter account.

Upon arrival, Onuachu was first greeted by club officials before being swarmed by excited supporters eager to welcome him back to the country. The Nigeria international spent the 2023/24 season on loan with Trabzonspor, where he netted 17 goals in 25 appearances.

He is now set to complete a permanent transfer to the former Turkish Süper Lig champions, following confirmation from Southampton that an agreement had been reached for his transfer.

Onuachu scored four goals in 25 appearances for Southampton last season.

The striker is the latest addition to Trabzonspor as they prepare for the new season, having already secured the signing of Joaquin Pina and are close to finalising a deal for Jean-Charles Castelletto.
