Galaxy Backbone Limited (GBB), Nigeria’s digital infrastructure and services company, is exploring deeper collaboration with LEADERSHIP Group as part of its ongoing efforts to extend digital connectivity and integrate national institutions into a unified ICT ecosystem.
This development was indicated on Thursday when a delegation from GBB paid a courtesy visit to the corporate headquarters of the LEADERSHIP group in Abuja to explore areas of collaboration for mutual benefits.
During the strategic engagement meeting, both organisations reflected on past collaborations and expressed optimism about future synergies aimed at enhancing ICT-driven service delivery and media support.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Chidi Okpala, Head of Corporate Communications at Galaxy Backbone, who represented the Managing Director of GBB, Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju, highlighted previous partnerships, citing a successful project with ASO Television where fibre infrastructure was extended to their transmission station. He suggested replicating similar models with LEADERSHIP, noting the company’s extensive reach and shared commitment to national development.
He highlighted the importance of constant engagement with the media, adding that LEADERSHIP is a credible platform for such engagement and collaboration.
“We are working with various government institutions to digitise their operations, expand access to electricity, and promote smart systems. Our goal is to ensure every community and institution is connected,” Chidi added.
The Managing Editor of LEADERSHIP, Hajia Raliat Yusuf, who received the delegation, pledged the company’s support for the organisation’s activities. She added that the partnership has become imperative, especially now that the GBB is expanding investment in different parts of the country.
The meeting ended on a high note, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to deepen the alliance in ways that would enhance national integration, support digital transformation, and promote strategic storytelling around Nigeria’s technological growth.
The meeting also spotlighted GBB’s ongoing nationwide digitisation initiatives, including projects with environmental agencies, universities, and the Nigeria Police Force’s smart policing programme. These efforts aim to integrate critical sectors of the country into a seamless digital framework.
