Abia State government has raised over N3.4bn for its Security Trust Fund, just as the governor, Alex Otti, said the state is relatively peaceful.

‎Otti stated this at the launch of the fund in Umuahia, the state capital on Thursday, appreciating the residents and the security agencies for the achievement.

He said. “Insecurity creates economic and social crisis, impoverishes the population, and makes refugees of individuals and families in their homeland.

‎”All of us are invited to always take more than a passing interest in security issues in our neighborhoods, places of business, and in the larger community.”

Otti, who recounted that on his assumption of office in 2023, he prioritised the security of state, expressed delight that the endeavour had been recording the desired success.

The representative for Aba federal constituency at the National Assembly, Alex Ikwuecheghe, labour and employment minister of state, Nkeiruka Onyejiocha and former mines and steel minister, Uche Ogah, endorsed the fund.
