Galatasaray has reportedly finalised a monumental agreement with Napoli for the transfer of Nigerian superstar Victor Osimhen, bringing an end to weeks of intense negotiations.

The deal, valued at €75 million, marks a significant deal for the Turkish champions.

According to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, the transfer fee was structured with an initial payment of €40 million, followed by two installments totaling €35 million to be paid by July 2026.

In a crucial concession to Napoli, Galatasaray has also agreed to grant the Italian club a 10 percent sell-on clause for any future transfer of Osimhen that exceeds the initial €75 million fee.

Reports suggest that Osimhen will earn an annual salary of approximately €25 million.

The Turkish media outfit, Daily Sabah, reports that the transfer saga, closely watched across the football world, saw Galatasaray’s management, led by President Dursun Özbek and facilitated by manager Abdullah Kavukcu, navigated the complex discussions with Napoli.

Despite reaching obstacles at various points, a common ground was eventually found, according to the report.

A key sticking point during negotiations was Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis’s insistence on a clause preventing Osimhen from being sold to another Serie A club.

Galatasaray reportedly agreed that the player will not be transferred to any Italian top-flight team until the 2027 season, a significant win for Napoli given their desire to avoid strengthening domestic rivals.

With Osimhen’s clear desire to join Galatasaray, the installment payment plan was accepted, and the final hurdle—Napoli’s share from a future sale—was also overcome.

The deal also specified that should Galatasaray sell Osimhen for more than the initial €75 million, the yellow-reds will pay Napoli 10 percent of that profit.

The historic agreement sets the stage for Osimhen’s arrival in Istanbul.

Galatasaray fans are already buzzing with anticipation for Osimhen’s arrival while the social media is awash with messages planning a “historic welcome” at the airport, with hundreds of thousands of supporters expected to track the striker’s flight live.

The signing is seen as a statement of intent from Galatasaray as they aim for continued domestic and European success.

“Osimhen will be in Istanbul on Tuesday. Clear information. He will meet with Galatasaray fans on Tuesday,” football commentator Hakan Gündoğar, said.
