The of Eppa community in Mokwa local government area of Niger State have raised N100 million to fix a school and clinic.

The money was realised from collections from farm produce and land rented to farmers from the neighbouring states.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the community has very fertile land for both cereals and root crops cultivation without the application of fertiliser, which attracts farmers from Kebbi and Sokoto States.

It was learnt that the villagers charge rent on the farmlands based on crop yields and saved the money in a common purse for development.

The village head of Eppa community, Mallam Abbas Mohammed Ishaq, told LEADERSHIP that they have executed various health and educational projects worth N100 million from the sales of farm produce collected.

He said the community houses visitors from Kebbi and Sokoto States.

Mallam Ishaq said with the money they realised, the community constructed six new blocks of classrooms with offices, completed two abandoned classrooms with offices, constructed a healthcare clinic, vigilante office, the village head palace, and ascended the throne within one year.
