Disclosing this to journalists in Uyo, yesterday, the senior official of the anti-graft agency, Dele Ojewale, said the suspects were arrested on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

He listed the hotspots where the suspects were apprehended, including the Afaha Offot, Ikot Ntuen, Nwaniba areas, and the nearby Abak local government area, explaining that “they were rounded up through an intelligence-driven sting operation.”

The operatives, he stated, recovered some incriminating items, including  19 mobile phones and three laptops.

He assured that “the suspects will be charged in court after investigations. ” He urged members of civil society to work in synergy with security agencies by volunteering intelligence on suspicious characters within their neighbourhoods.
