A statement signed by the International Spokesman of IAWPA, Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke, the Nigerian Police Force under the dynamic leadership of the present Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, for its tireless efforts in combating crime in the country, particularly trans-border crimes.

“We also applaud the FCT Police Command for its dedication to maintaining peace and security within the nation’s capital,” he stated.

The statement said that as part of activities to observe the day, the association will be recognising members of the Nigerian Police Force, both serving and retired, who have demonstrated commitment to promoting peace and security.

“This recognition will afford them opportunities to attend UN conferences globally and provide scholarship programs to selected children of fallen heroes of the Nigerian Police Force,” the statement said.
