Group Inaugurates N100m Facility For Kwara General Hospital

The Omu-Aran Social Club in Irepodun local government area of Kwara State, has performed the foundation laying of a N100 million 20-bed capacity facility for Omu-Aran General Hospital.

At the event, the club president, Ambassador Mohammed Abioye, said the provision of such essential amenities and infrastructure would not only improve the welfare and well-being of the people but also boost the commercial and socio-economic development of the community.

Abioye said the decision to embark on the project was taken after due consultation with the hospital’s management and the Kwara State Ministry of Health.

He assured that the project, when completed, will complement the state government’s envisioned upgrade of the hospital to teaching hospital status in collaboration with Thomas Adewumi University, Oko -Irese.

Abioye appealed to the Kwara State government to replicate its urban renewal developmental projects in Ilorin, the state capital in Omu-Aran.

The chairman of Irepodun local government area, Hon. Abdulazeez Tinuola, expressed the council’s support for the club in making the project a resounding success.

He particularly credited the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for providing the inspiration behind such community-driven gestures.

The Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba AbdulRaheem Adeoti, thanked the club for prioritising community and human capital development.

He urged other well-meaning individuals, groups, and organisations to follow Omu-Aran Social Club’s example and develop the community.

The chief medical director of Omu-Aran General Hospital, Dr Oguntoye Caleb, thanked the club members for their foresight and described the project’s foundation laying as one that rekindles the hope of better and adequate healthcare delivery services at the grassroots.

 

The groundbreaking ceremony was performed jointly by the Olomu of Omu-Aran, the Olosi of Osi, Oba Solihu Adasofegebe, the chairman of Irepodun local government, Hon. Abdulazeez Yakubu, and the medical director of the hospital, Dr. Oguntoye Caleb.
