Chairman of Abia State House of Assembly Committee on Environment and Urban Renewal, Kalu Nwoke, has said the state had been restored to the dream path of its founding fathers.
Nwoke made the assertion, yesterday, while speaking to LEADERSHIP Friday as the state marked the 34th anniversary of its creation on Wednesday in Umuahia, the state capital.
He attributed this to “the political capacity of the governor, Alex Otti, who came fully prepared to change the narrative of the state slightly over two years ago.”
The Labour Party member noted that “had the previous administrations been as focused as the present, the state would have been one of the best developed in the country”.
He explained, “Under the present administration, we have seen vigorous pursuit of dreams anchored on equity, justice, fairness, and even development of the state.”
The member for Ohafia South constituency said, “With the rate the state is developing, it’s overcoming stunted growth, infrastructure deficiency, and other challenges”.
He lauded Otti for the extent of the work on the new bridge across the Igwu River on the Umuahia-Bende-Ohafia road, “which had been long abandoned by the federal government.”
Nwoke also appreciated him for the ongoing rehabilitation of schools and health facilities in the constituency and assured him of the people’s support.
