Chelsea have submitted a bid of €40 million to FC Barcelona for young talent Fermín López.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news via his X account on Saturday, sparking excitement among Chelsea supporters eager for fresh talent.

However, Barcelona remains steadfast in their stance, asserting that they have no intention of selling López this summer, even in light of Chelsea’s substantial offer.

The Spanish giants reportedly said the 20-year-old midfielder has not expressed any desire to leave the club at this stage.

However, Barcelona’s management seem to be interested in retaining López, who has shown promise in his performances.

As of now, the outcome of Chelsea’s bid is not based only on the club’s decision but also on the player’s aspirations.

Barcelona’s clear message suggests that the only way for Chelsea to secure López’s services is based on the player’s desire to move.

With the summer transfer window in full swing, all eyes will be on López and his next steps as Chelsea awaits a response.
