A press statement signed by the police public relations officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, disclosed that the Yusufari Divisional Police Headquarters has apprehended two suspects.

The suspects, Kabiru Ibrahim, 23, and Abubakar Abubakar, 24, are from Sabon Garin of Bade LGA and are suspected of dismantling transformer components and cables, causing severe damage in the Sunomari area of Yusufari Town.

According to the statement, the suspects were arrested based on credible information. During interrogation, they confessed to the crime, adding that several stolen items were recovered from them. An investigation is underway for subsequent prosecution.

LEADERSHIP gathered that, following their arrest, youths from the community gathered, expressing outrage over the suspects’ actions, which they claimed were habitual. In a bid to take the law into their own hands, the youths attempted to lynch the suspects and set fire to a motorcycle belonging to one of the suspects.
