‎An Abia State monarch, Eze Nzenwata Mbakwe, has urged accountants to shun acts that could truncate public financial management, trust, transparency and their integrity.

‎The monarch said this when he opened the 4th session of 2025 Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Programme and Induction of new members of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria in Umuahia, the state capital.

‎He reminded them that as guardians of public resources, no knowledge is enough compared with the current innovation and development in the accounting profession sector.

‎The former 1st deputy chairman of the State Council of Traditional Rulers, urged accountants in the country to continue to engage in professional development to enhance their skills and knowledge.

‎Speaking, the president and chairman of council of the association, Zuwairat Kishimi said accountants play advisory roles in public financial management safety and must sustain the confidence reposed in them.

‎Kishimi also lauded the governor, Alex Otti for his administration’s unwavering commitment to good governance and delivering visible democracy dividends across the state.

‎In their separate remarks, the chief executive officer of the association, Kayode Fasua, and the programmes committee chairman, Hassan Ibrahim, noted the expectations of the society from accountants.

Therefore, Fasua and Ibrahim urged the participants to see the conference as an opportunity to contribute to the overall development of the accounting profession.

‎Welcoming the participants earlier, the state branch chairman of the association, Chukwuemeka Ukomadu, expressed optimism that the conference would record many far-reaching and successful deliberations.
