Toluwalase Emmanuel Arokodare has joined Premier League side Wolves on a £24 million deal from Belgian club Genk. The 6ft 6in Nigerian international signed a four-year contract at Molineux on Monday.
Wolves currently find themselves at the bottom of the Premier League table, having lost their opening three matches. Arokodare, who scored 21 goals in the Belgian Pro League to claim the Golden Boot last season, is expected to bolster the team’s attacking options alongside Jorgen Strand Larsen.
The Norwegian forward had drawn interest from Newcastle, who submitted bids of £50 million and £55 million last week; however, Wolves opted to reject those offers.
Arokodare, 24, netted 41 goals in 113 appearances for Genk after transferring from Latvian side Valmiera in 2023 and has one goal in four outings for Nigeria.
He initially moved to Valmiera from Nigeria in 2019, where he impressed by scoring 22 goals in 34 games.
Prior to his stint at Genk, Arokodare was loaned to FC Köln in the Bundesliga and later spent two years on loan at French club Amiens, scoring 21 times during that period. So far this season, he has featured five times for Genk, finding the net once.
