Joseph Tarka Varsity Gets 21 New Professors

Governing Council of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi (JoSTUM), formerly known as the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi (FUAM), has approved the promotion of 21 lecturers to the rank of professors.

Their promotion was approved at the institution’s 77th meeting held between August 18 and 20, 2025.
In addition to elevating professors for the 2024/2025 session, the council approved 21 senior lecturers to associate professors.

Similarly, some lecturers were elevated to senior lecturers, while assistant lecturers were appointed as lecturers II.

“The Appointments and Promotions Committee considered a number of cases brought before it, and made recommendations which are hereby communicated to council for necessary decisions,” the university said.
