Former Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has thrown his weight behind the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying he will lead the 2027 reelection campaign in the South West region.

Ambode made this known in Badagry, Lagos, during a sensitisation programme on Permanent Voter Card (PVC) registration, where he urged residents to register and collect their PVCs in preparation for the polls.
Speaking through the Director General of Tinubu-Ambo Support Group, Dr. Seyi Bamigbade, Ambode said President Tinubu has laid a solid foundation for Nigeria’s growth and deserves a second term to consolidate on the achievements recorded.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has proven his capacity to lead this country with vision and courage. I call on Lagosians and Nigerians to ensure he gets a second term in 2027 so we can all continue to benefit from his progressive leadership. As for Lagos State, I am offering myself once again to serve, with a renewed vision to build on the gains of the past and address today’s realities,” he stated.

The former governor’s representative further said the sensitisation campaign was part of efforts to mobilise Lagos residents for active participation in the democratic process.

He said, “Our message is clear: no PVC, no voting. The group is committed to house-to-house sensitisation to ensure every eligible voter in Lagos registers and collects their voter card. We believe both President Tinubu and Mr. Ambode represent continuity, progress, and people-focused governance.”

The event attracted community leaders, youth groups, and stakeholders who pledged support for the President and Ambode in the forthcoming elections.
