The Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), Effurun, Delta State, has officially opened its portal for the 2025/2026 supplementary Post-UTME screening exercise.

This was contained in a press release signed by the registrar of the university, Dr (Mrs) Jane Omoyine.
While inviting qualified candidates to apply for admission into several newly introduced undergraduate degree programmes in the institution, the registrar explained that “the supplementary screening is part of FUPRE’s broader academic expansion and admission growth strategy aimed at meeting increasing manpower demands and delivering quality, industry-driven education.”

“The exercise is being conducted specifically to admit candidates into its newly established programmes across three of its colleges,” the registrar said.

The press release added that FUPRE has continued to position itself as Africa’s first petroleum university, offering accredited programmes that provide hands-on training and strong industry links, ensuring excellent career prospects in science, oil and gas, maritime and management sectors.

“In the College of Science, FUPRE now offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Petroleum Chemistry.

“The College of Petroleum Administration and Management (CPAM) has introduced four new programmes, including Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Procurement Management, Petroleum Information Management, and Entrepreneurship.

“Additionally, the College of Maritime and Offshore Studies has commenced Bachelor of Science programmes in Maritime Transport and Logistics, as well as Maritime Economics and Finance”.

The statement noted that “eligible candidates are required to have scored 170 or above in the 2025 UTME, must have missed the earlier FUPRE Post-UTME screening, and should not have been offered admission elsewhere.”

It added that “applicants must also meet both UTME and O’Level subject requirements specific to their chosen courses.”
