A former senior special assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on Christian Religion Matters, Rev. Sam Ogedengbe, has applauded Nigeria’s first lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for making remarkable strides in advancing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, with programmes that cut across the six geopolitical zones and touch millions of lives.

Ogedengbe stated this at the weekend in Lagos while commenting on the empowerment programme held in Lagos recently by the first lady. During the programme, small-scale business owners, artisans, and traders received tools, materials, and start-up support to strengthen their enterprises.

He said the First Lady’s flagship Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) has redefined the role of her office, building a legacy of empowerment and inclusiveness that observers say is unprecedented in the history of the nation’s first ladies.

Ogedengbe noted that the beneficiaries have expressed gratitude for the intervention, describing it as a lifeline for families struggling to sustain their livelihoods.

“Senator Tinubu’s initiatives also extend to scholarships for indigent students, health outreach for women and children, support for persons living with disabilities, and youth entrepreneurship training. These interventions, spread across all regions, have been designed to reduce poverty, improve household income, and promote self-reliance.

‘’In addition, the First Lady has aligned her projects with the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SSA-SDGs), Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, to ensure that the Renewed Hope Initiative complements Nigeria’s pursuit of the United Nations SDGs”, he said

He said her impact reflects her compassion and her deep commitment to good governance.

He noted that Senator Tinubu lays a solid foundation for sustainable social and economic development by directly empowering women, youths, and small businesses.

He also observed that with her far-reaching programmes and commitment to inclusivity, the First Lady is increasingly credited with transforming the Office of the First Lady from a ceremonial role into a platform for national impact.
