Prominent Kano Monarch, Idris Dankabo, Dies in Car Accident at 48

The Hakimin Kabo and Sarkin Gabas of Kano State, Alhaji Idris Muhammadu Adamu Dankabo, has died at the age of 48 following a motor accident in Kano city.

A statement issued on behalf of the family by Kasa Alhaji Fahad Dankabo confirmed his passing and funeral arrangements.

Alhaji Idris, son of the late Jarman Kano and founder of Kabo Air, Alhaji Muhammadu Adamu Dankabo, was a prominent traditional ruler who upheld his family’s legacy of leadership within the Kano Emirate.

He is survived by his wife and two children.

According to the family statement, the funeral prayer (Jana’iza) will be held today, Friday, September 19, 2025, at the Emir’s Palace in Kano by 10:00 a.m., with His Highness, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, expected to lead the prayer.
