Taraba State has again positioned itself on the global agricultural map, with a strong presence at the ongoing India-Africa Seed Summit 2025 in Hyderabad, India.

At the event, the director-general of the Taraba Geographic Information Services (TARGIS), Maaku Mark Joshua, engaged investors and technology experts in high-level discussions aimed at attracting direct investments into the state’s vast agricultural sector.

During the summit, the team visited Presat Seed Processing Company in Hyderabad, where they expressed appreciation for the cutting-edge technology being deployed in seed processing and packaging.

Joshua noted that, such innovations hold great promise for transforming Taraba’s seed value chain and boosting food security across Nigeria.

In a strategic presentation to the investors, Joshua showcased its arable land resources, that highlights the state’s comparative advantage in commercial farming.

A major highlight was the presentation of 100 hectares of land earmarked at Curteval Agroscience Company in Hyderabad, with a clear projection to expand the allocation to 200 or 300 hectares in due course.

The land was designated for the establishment of large-scale agro-industrial factories in Taraba, opening new opportunities in mechanized farming, food processing, and export-oriented agribusiness.

Joshua emphasised that the initiative aligns with the vision of Governor Agbu Kefas to harness agriculture, as a key driver of Taraba’s economic transformation, create jobs, and ensure sustainable development.
