Masari Lauds UNIOSUN’s Developmental Strides

Former governor of Katsina State and chairman of the TETFund Board of Trustees, Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, has commended the management of Osun State University under Prof. Odunayo Clement Adebooye for the developmental strides achieved under his administration.

Masari, who spoke at the commissioning of four projects funded by TETFund as part of a programme for the university’s 15th convocation ceremonies, also lauded Governor Ademola Adeleke for his grit, doggedness, and commitment to the university’s development.

He disclosed that from the start of TETFund interventions to the university shortly after it enlisted in 2006, the Fund has allocated a total of N14,107,175,623.11, out of which N10,554,366,446.14 have been accessed. This leaves a balance of N3,552,809,176.97, most of which is already committed.
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives pledged the Board’s commitment to ensure that no Fund projects are abandoned, but charged the institutions with ensuring that the facilities are properly maintained and protected.

Prof. Adebooye disclosed that four projects were commissioned, including an iconic Senate building, a 500-capacity lecture hall, a twin lecture theatre with a 500-capacity lecture theatre, and a Faculty of Computing and Information Technology building.

Also speaking at the convocation ceremony, Adebooye disclosed that the university awarded various degrees to 2,851 candidates, giving the breakdown as: 2,505 Bachelor’s degrees with 49 First Class, 988 Upper Second Class, 1279 Lower Second Class, 179 Third Class, and 01 in the Pass category. We also graduated 01 PGD, 283 Master’s, and 62 PhD.
