Rivers United captain, Temple Emekayi has assured Nigerians that the team won’t disappoint the nation in their crucial continental encounter.

The Pride of Rivers will face FC Les Aigles du Congo in the second leg of the 2025/26 CAF Champions League preliminary round.

The crucial encounter is scheduled to take place on Sunday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, where Rivers United will host the Congolese side in the second leg of their first preliminary round tie.

Emekayi promised that the players would fight hard to make the nation proud. “As a team and as individuals, we know what’s at stake. We’ll play to win this game on Sunday, and we won’t let the nation down.”The eagerly anticipated clash is slated for 4pm.
