A massive crowd had last week welcomed the Yobe State Governor, Hon. (Dr.) Mai Mala Buni, as he embarked on a surprise assessment tour of the Primary Healthcare Centres in Wagir and Mutai of Gujba Local Government Area.

A statement issued by the director general Press Affairs and Media to the Governor, Mamman Mohammed said Buni was visibly impressed with the services at facilities during the visit, commended the staff for their commitment, good maintenance culture, and the high level of cleanliness observed during the visit.

The governor noted that such commitment from frontline workers is essential for ensuring effective service delivery in rural areas where access to healthcare is most critical.

“Investments in primary healthcare are investments in the lives and future of the people, especially those in rural communities who depend on such facilities for survival.”

Buni, directed the Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Primary Healthcare Management Agency, Dr. Kundi Machina, to submit the requirements for additional facilities to further strengthen service delivery in the centres.

The Governor who saluted people for their unwavering support to his administration, assured that the government would consider absorbing all dedicated casual staff working in the two PHCs into the mainstream civil service.
