Inter-Party Advisory Council Seeks Unity, Patriotism, Free Elections

In its Independence anniversary message, the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has extended heartfelt congratulations to Nigerians, calling for renewed patriotism, national unity, and a commitment to democratic values.

In a statement signed by its national chairman, Dr Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, IPAC praised the vision and sacrifices of Nigeria’s founding fathers, affirming that their labour for a united and democratic country has not been in vain.

“Nigerians are a resourceful and resilient people, determined to build a better nation in spite of our political, socio-economic and security challenges,” the statement read.

IPAC used the Independence Day celebration as a platform for sober reflection and national rededication, urging citizens to see this milestone as an opportunity to renew their commitment to the country’s progress.

As part of efforts to deepen democratic values and promote national identity, IPAC announced it is producing a world-class documentary film entitled Unbroken: Two and a Half Decades of Democracy, chronicling 25 years of uninterrupted democratic governance in Nigeria (1999–2024).

The filmthe umbrella body for all registered political parties in Nigeria, developed in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, INEC, the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, and the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, is intended to serve as a strategic communication tool to promote Nigeria’s democratic journey and global image.

IPAC also drew attention to the upcoming Anambra State governorship election scheduled for 8 November 2025, calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure a free, fair, credible, and inclusive electoral process.
