The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, has declared that with his new status as a monarch, he is no longer a politician.

The monarch, a former governor of Oyo State, asserted this during a courtesy visit paid to him by former vice president Atiku Abubakar, former governor of Kaduna State Nasir El-Rufai, former Senate President Iyorchia Ayu and other notable personalities.

He disclosed that he has finally quit politics because he has become the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
During his time in active politics, he recalled his good times with Atiku and other politicians in the country, noting that he had to quit because of his new status.
The new Olubadan, however, promised to use his stool to promote justice and fairness throughout his reign, saying, “I am no more one of you. I am not a politician anymore. Welcome to my house.

“Now that I am the Olubadan, I am no longer interested in anything other than the Olubadan. You are welcome to my house.

“We started from the SDP, were in exile together, and were in the PDP together. When I wanted to create an identity, I joined the Accord Party, which became a household name here. I know you politicians have a way of coming back.

“All the religious leaders said that the only thing they can do is promote justice and fairness. I will serve my people: Ibadan, Oyo State, Africa and the world. I will depend on your support and advice”.
