‎Abia Commission Empowers Charity Homes, Others

‎Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission has donated money and various items to a disabilities association and charity homes in the state as part of its corporate social responsibilities.

‎The beneficiaries are Joint Association of Persons With Disabilities, Ukwa West local government area, and Ahiaeke and Ngwa Road Motherless Babies Homes, Umuahia, the state capital.

‎Addressing them at their various bases, the general manager (GM) of the commission, Joshua Onyeike, assured that the commission was committed to touching the lives of the people.

‎Represented by the director of Social Welfare, Amarachi Isaac-Nwachukwu, he said the commission had embarked on several areas of activities in the oil producing communities and beyond.

‎He said the areas include construction and reconstruction of roads, civic centre and halls, school blocks, hospital and market stalls, and distribution of agricultural inputs among others.

‎The GM, who commended the governor, Alex Otti for his administration’s support for the commission, urged the people to sustain their loyalty and support to the governor and the administration.

 

‎In a response, the leader of the association, John Ndudim, lauded Otti, Onyike, and the commission for the donations, calling for more inclusion in the commission’s interventions.

 

‎Similarly, Lauretta and Ugbusu of Ahiaeke and Ngwa Road Motherless Babies Homes thanked the commission and the governor for the donations, prayed for, and wished them well.
