For the third consecutive time, Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has been singled out by the Federal Government for national recognition, reaffirming his reputation as one of Nigeria’s most innovative and reform-driven leaders.

Governor Fintiri will be honoured alongside five other governors at the prestigious 2025 Nigeria GovTech Public Service Awards, underscoring his consistent record of excellence and visionary leadership. The award, organised by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), celebrates leaders who have pioneered transformative governance and set new benchmarks in service delivery.

Joining Governor Fintiri on the exclusive list of awardees are Dr. Alex Otti of Abia State, Senator Douye Diri of Bayelsa, Umar Namadi of Jigawa, Prince Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, and Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau. However, Fintiri’s recognition for the third consecutive year places him in a rare class of leaders whose dedication to reforms continues to attract national and international acclaim.

The 2025 GovTech Conference and Awards will take place at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja, from October 9–10, 2025. This year’s theme, “Redefining Possibilities: Harnessing Emerging Technologies for Public Service Delivery and Socio-Economic Development,” speaks directly to Governor Fintiri’s model of governance in Adamawa—where technology and innovation are central to development and service delivery.

In his statement, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, stressed the importance of the awards as a reflection of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, while the BPSR Director-General, Dr. Dasuki I. Arabi, commended Fintiri and other honorees as torchbearers of reform.

Now in its third edition, the Nigeria GovTech Public Service Awards has become the foremost platform for recognising reform-driven leadership. With his third award in a row, Governor Fintiri has once again placed Adamawa State on the national stage as a beacon of progress, innovation, and people-centred governance.

Fintiri Approves 24km Maiha–Mubi Road Construction, Sets Aside N1.2bn for SDGs Projects

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved the construction of the 24-kilometre Maiha–Mubi Road, a long-awaited project that is expected to be completed within 15 months.

Although the road is originally a federal project, the Governor explained that his administration found it necessary to intervene in order to alleviate the suffering of citizens who have endured the dilapidated condition of the road for over two decades. The road, last constructed in 2002, was abandoned, leaving commuters and traders stranded for years.

In a related development, Governor Fintiri also approved the release of ₦1.2 billion as counterpart funding for the 2025 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Conditional Grant Scheme (CGS) in Adamawa State. The funds will support the implementation of critical social projects that aim to improve healthcare, education, and community development across the state.

Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering infrastructure and social development projects that directly impact the lives of citizens, stressing that Adamawa people deserve the dividends of democracy.
