Two prominent Nigerian diaspora groups, the Nigerian Diaspora Direct Investment Summit (NDDIS) and the African Diaspora Direct Investment Summit (ADDIS), unveiled plans on Monday to immortalise former Olusegun Obasanjo through the establishment of a Conflict Resolution Centre (OOCRC).
This is just as the diasporan groups also disclosed that it will launch a new book to celebrate Obasanjo, whose visionary leadership and remarkable conflict resolution efforts have shaped Nigeria and advanced peace across the African continent, nay the world.
The Executive, Nigerian and African Diaspora Direct Investment Summit (NDDIS and ADDIS), Prince Bimbo Roberts Folayan, disclosed this at a press conference addressed yesterday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
Flanked by other members of the diasporan groups, Folayan said the centre, christened Olusegun Obasanjo Conflict Resolution Centre (OOCRC), Nigeria’s version of Chatham House, will serve as “a first-of-its-kind” hub for peace research, dialogue, and practical mediation.

He explained further that the centre will leverage human expertise and artificial intelligence tools to address pressing security and conflict challenges in Nigeria and the wider West African region.

In the newly authored book, “The Conflict Resolution Strategies of President Olusegun Obasanjo,” Folayan explained that the 380-page book, spanning 20 chapters, meticulously documents President Obasanjo’s conflict resolution strategies and his pivotal role in mediating peace efforts across Africa.

He disclosed further that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will host other eminent African Presidents, international statesmen, and Nigeria’s political and business leaders. The two-in-one programme is billed to take place on November 27th, 2025, at the Transcorp Hilton in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

“We gather to honour one of Africa’s greatest statesmen — President Olusegun Obasanjo — whose visionary leadership and remarkable conflict resolution efforts have shaped Nigeria and advanced peace across our continent”.

“We are pleased to announce that President Obasanjo has personally approved this honour.
