Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has set December 25, 2025, as the deadline for the payment of 2026 hajj fares for prospective pilgrims in the state.

The chairman of the agency, Aliyu Musa, stated this during a meeting with Hajj Registration Officers from the 23 local government areas of Sokoto State.

He said the deadline aligns with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON’s stipulated deadline of December 29, 2025 for the completion of Hajj fare payments across the country.

Musa appealed to intending pilgrims from the state to ensure the timely payment of their Hajj fares to facilitate a smooth process and proper arrangements for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

“We urge all intending pilgrims to make their payments before the deadline to ensure seamless coordination and avoid last minute rush, the Chairman said.

He emphasised the importance of adhering to the payment schedule to enable the agency to meet NAHCON’s requirements and ensure the successful participation of Sokoto State pilgrims in the upcoming Hajj.

The chairman also cautioned Hajj registration officers against registering individuals of questionable character and those from neighbouring countries who are not citizens of Nigeria.

Musa reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to ensuring a successful 2026 Hajj exercise in accordance with established guidelines.
