Taraba State governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, says the partnership with Origin Tech and Stanbic IBTC Bank will create more opportunities for farmers to harness the state’s potential in agriculture.

Governor Kefas, who hosted a delegation from Origin Tech Group and Stanbic IBTC Bank, at the TY Danjuma House in Jalingo, said the establishment of the Taraba Accelerated Agriculture and Rural Development Scheme (TAARDS) would drive the state’s initiative for massive food production and job creation.

The governor was optimistic that the initiative would also open up rural communities through extensive road construction and mechanised farming.

He reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to attract investments and encourage private partnerships to harness its potential.

Kefas said the partnership with Origin Tech Group and Stanbic IBTC Bank aligned with his vision to transform the agricultural sector, modernise farming systems and expand farmers’ opportunities in all the state’s local government areas.

The chief executive officer of Stanbic IBTC Bank, Wole Adeniyi, announced the bank’s commitment to adopting a school within the state capital, which will soon be renovated and equipped to standard.

The chairman of Origin Tech Group, Samuel Joseph Samuel, pledged to partner with the bank on the Adopt-A-School Project in Taraba and showed a strong private-sector commitment to supporting education and community development in the state.

The visit was a fallout of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed on October 5, 2025, in Lagos, between the state government and Origin Tech Group, with Stanbic IBTC Bank as the financial partner, to deepen discussion.
