The official inauguration of the Committee for the Employment of 5,000 Teachers was performed by the Honourable Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Comrade Umaru Garba Pella, at a ceremony held in the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development Conference Hall, Yola.

The committee is composed of members drawn from key stakeholders in the education sector, including representatives from the Teachers Service Board (TSB), State Universal Basic Education Board (ADSUBEB), Post-Primary Schools Management Board (PPSMB), Ministry of Education, and Civil Service Commission, among others. This inclusive composition reflects the government’s commitment to transparency, fairness, and merit-based recruitment.

Speaking during the inauguration, Comrade Pella reaffirmed the Fintiri administration’s unwavering commitment to repositioning the education sector in Adamawa State. He noted that the planned recruitment exercise is aimed at strengthening teacher manpower in both urban and rural schools, ensuring that every child in the state has access to quality education delivered by competent and motivated teachers.

He added that the committee’s mandate includes developing clear recruitment guidelines, ensuring proper screening and verification of applicants, and guaranteeing equitable distribution of teachers across the 21 local government areas of the state.

The employment of 5,000 teachers forms part of Governor Fintiri’s broader education reform agenda, which prioritizes human capital development, improved learning outcomes, and capacity building for educators. Since assuming office, the Fintiri administration has invested heavily in educational infrastructure, school renovations, digital learning, and teacher welfare — all aimed at restoring the glory of public education in Adamawa State.
