The Yobe State Government, under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni, has launched a crucial health initiative aimed at protecting children and adolescents from vaccine-preventable diseases, Measles-Rubella, Polio, Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and Tropical Neglect Disease (TND) Integrated Campaign

A statement from the Information Officer of the Yobe State Primary Healthcare Board, Adamu Saidu Abba said the Integrated Campaign flagged-off on Friday at the Emir’s Palace in Damaturu was aimed at immunizing children against the preventable diseases.

Governor Buni, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali has while flagging-off the campaign restated the commitments of his administration towards investing in the healthcare sector for a better future.

Buni said the government has a deliberate plan embarked on the establishment of a functional Primary Healthcare Center (PHC) across the 178 political wards of the state geared towards boosting healthcare from the grassroots.

He expressed happiness that a total of over 140 was successfully completed, equipped and put to use in addition to recruitment of healthcare personnel for better service.

Also, the Commissioner of Health and Human Services, Dr. Muhammad Lawan Gana urged people to take the advantage of the integrated campaign by ensuring their children and wards are immunized through supporting the trained health assigned to administer the vaccines.

Dr Gana who restated the safety and efficacy of the vaccine commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for his support to the healthcare sector in the state.

The Executive Secretary, Yobe State Primary Healthcare Board Dr. Babagana Kundi Machina has while speaking, commended partners and stakeholders, emphasizing the significance of collective efforts in achieving healthcare goals in the state.

The Emir of Damaturu, Alhaji Shehu Hashimi II ibn Umar Alkanemi commended the government among other health experts for their untiring efforts in ensuring a healthy society.

Representatives from partner organizations delivered goodwill messages, reaffirming their commitment to improving healthcare services in Yobe State.
