The Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, has expressed sadness over the demise of the first Military Administrator of Ebonyi State, Navy Captain Walter Aye Feghabo (Rtd.).

Navy Captain Feghabo passed away on October 19, 2025, at the age of 69 years.

Umahi, who’s the immediate-past elected governor of Ebonyi State, in a condolence message on Tuesday, said the life and times of late Navy Captain Feghabo reflected the core values of his professional calling.

“He shall be remembered for his sense of courage and commitment to the Navy’s core leadership competencies, which is accomplishing the mission, leading the people, leading transformation, working with the people, and resource stewardship.

“These Naval attributes resonated in his leadership stewardship as the Military Administrator of Ebonyi State between October 1996 and August 1998 and as the Military Administrator of Delta State between August 1998 and May 1999,” Umahi said.

The Minister said Feghabo as the first Military Administrator of Ebonyi State provided foundational leadership and created a positive environment that inspired the growth, direction, stability, and sustainability of development by successive governments of the State.
