Gov Buni Expresses Delight Over Federal Govt’s Approval Of Buni-Gari-Gulani Road Reconstruction

The Yobe State governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has commended the federal government for granting approval for the rehabilitation of the Buni-Gari-Gulani road devastated by floods disaster recently.

A statement issued by the director general, Press Affairs and Media to Governor Buni, Mamman Mohammed, described the gesture by the federal government, as a huge relief to the state government and the affected and business communities plying the road.

Buni said the rehabilitation of the 90 km road will also rejuvenate socio-economic activities grossly affected by the destroyed road.

The governor further said the approval of N4 billion for rehabilitation of the road with a completion period of 36 months gives the people of the state a sense of belonging.

“We are proud of this commitment and would support the execution of the project in the interest of our people and the business community visiting the state from within and outside the state, ” Buni said

The road was among the major road networks destroyed by the flood disaster that ravaged many communities across Yobe State.

Flooding had destroyed at least 10 roads and bridges connecting many communities, especially in places like Gulani, Gujba, Tarmuwa and Jakusko local government areas of Yobe State.
