The Police Command in Kano State has partnered with the Voluntary Aid Initiative (VAI) to strengthen police-community relations and promote mutual accountability in the state.
This is contained in a statement issued by the command’s spokesman, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa, in Kano yesterday.
Kiyaw said the initiative, part of the Police Reform Initiative Project, involved meetings and engagements with communities in Rano and Gwale local government areas.
He said, “The command has also planned football matches with youths from these areas to foster positive interactions and enhance community policing efforts.’
According to Kiyawa, the police commissioner, Ibrahim Bakori, commended VAI for its support and urged the public to contribute to crime prevention and management.( NAN)
