Eighteen days after academic activities were halted, Governor Agbu Kefas met with the management of Taraba State University (TSU), Jalingo, on Thursday to explore ways of resolving the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of
Universities (ASUU), even as the union said it was yet to receive details of the outcome.
The meeting, which lasted about two hours, ended without an immediate resolution of the industrial dispute. The government’s position was communicated to the university management, while the striking lecturers awaited a formal briefing.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the government was proposing to implement the union’s demands through instalment payments, while ASUU was seeking their full implementation.
