The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Zone 12 Command, Kano, has honoured a volunteer staff member, Nura Abdullahi, for returning more than N20 million cash he found after being forgotten in a commercial tricycle.
Zonal Commander, Assistant Commandant General (ACG) Amos Abiodun Taiwo, on Thursday, presented Abdullahi with a formal commendation letter in recognition of what he described as rare integrity and exemplary conduct.

According to the Zone 12 Command, Abdullahi discovered the money in a tricycle and immediately took steps to trace and return it to the owner, identified as Alhaji Mustafa, a businessman from the neighbouring Katsina State, who was in Kano for a businessman transaction.
While presenting the award, ACG Taiwo praised Abdullahiās display of honesty, noting that such actions reinforce public confidence in the Corps and reflect the values the NSCDC stands for. He added that the command considered it necessary to publicly acknowledge the gesture to encourage others to emulate the act of transparency.
āThe commendation is not just for returning the money, but for demonstrating that integrity still exists among citizens, especially within our organisation,ā Taiwo said.
The owner of the money, Alhaji Mustafa, also expressed gratitude to Abdullahi and the NSCDC for facilitating the return of his money, describing the gesture as life-saving and deeply reassuring.
